Describe where replenishment actually fits the week
List regular travel, essential journeys, parking windows and locations the owner can legitimately use. Separate a secured workplace arrangement from a hoped-for installation. The home AC planning guide remains useful if property access becomes realistic, but an unconfirmed future charger must not count as available now. Short commuting distance does not independently establish a workable electric routine. Record which trips cannot be delayed and how much extra time the household can tolerate for replenishment. This is a battery-electric decision, so do not borrow the fuel-backed fallback of a similarly named hybrid or another vehicle.
Verify installed compatibility at the chosen locations
Identify original market, physical inlet, applicable charging acceptance and legitimate equipment. The charging compatibility review keeps a China-market configuration separate from a destination brochure. Ask whether the locations can actually be used by this candidate with appropriate accounts and payment methods. Do not assume an adapter translates every protocol or that the station’s rating is the vehicle’s attainable output. Use applicable instructions and qualified assistance for consequential questions. A successful first session establishes limited current evidence at that location; it cannot promise universal compatibility or permanent access across every network shown on a driver’s map.
Count the complete stop and its household consequence
Include travel to the point, queues, parking, authorisation and time after the useful session. The family and cargo review matters when charging stops involve occupants or bags. Distinguish a stop overlapping an ordinary activity from a dedicated detour, and retain restrictions such as opening hours or parking permissions. Do not assign a universal hourly value to someone else’s time; state the owner’s limit or keep time and money separate. An attractive tariff can become impractical when the location is busy during the only usable window. Test the routine on an ordinary less-convenient day, not solely at an arranged demonstration.
Build a credible missed-session plan
Identify another compatible usable location or a practical change to essential travel if the preferred session is unavailable. The roadside and recovery plan addresses assistance, but recovery is not normal replenishment and should not be treated as an ownership routine. Follow the identified vehicle’s operating instructions instead of inventing a universal reserve percentage or guaranteed residual distance. Keep low-energy warnings and access uncertainty distinct from a battery-health diagnosis. If essential use depends on a single unconfirmed point, resolve that dependency before commitment. An EV’s purchase case should remain workable without quietly importing a hybrid’s ability to continue on petrol.
Compare paid access and the accepted offer together
Retain actual applicable electricity tariffs, session fees and charged parking with dates and exclusions. Purchased electricity is the expenditure boundary; nominal pack capacity alone does not predict a bill. Count supported setup equipment once through the landed-cost worksheet. Confirm usable diagnosis and parts support for the actual configuration. The three-year cost review can show how a higher public mix or changed access affects period value without guaranteed payback. Do not use a distant ideal station’s tariff to make the offer appear economical. The prepared vehicle and the recurring arrangement must be coherent together, not attractive in unrelated isolated comparisons.
Write access conditions that would reopen acceptance
Record original-market charging identity, confirmed locations, normal windows, missed-session options and the owner’s tolerance in the purchase schedule. A changed workplace, residence, destination or VIN triggers an affected review. Do not assume a seller controls future public availability unless a written service actually covers it. Choose acceptance, another supported offer or further access investigation according to the ordinary and adverse routine. A no-home-charging purchase can be practical, but its conclusion should survive removal of hoped-for infrastructure and perfect queue assumptions. It should not promise fixed charging time, universal network access or every later journey result.
