Identify the promised version first
Write market, model year, grade, battery, inlet and onboard-charger configuration beside the claim. A China-market vehicle should not be tested against a European CCS2 specification merely because both use the Sealion 7 name. Confirm what the exact VIN is designed to accept before choosing equipment.
Record the session boundary
Capture charger identity and rated capability, ambient and pack temperature, starting state of charge, preconditioning status, timestamp, power over time, delivered energy, interruptions and final state. A screenshot of the highest number removes the part of the session that determines journey time.
Separate vehicle limits from site limits
A low result can come from a cold or hot pack, high starting charge, shared charger, cable temperature, grid curtailment, authentication or vehicle fault. Repeat only after the evidence identifies a plausible cause. Do not diagnose the car from a public charger whose own output is unknown.
Compare 10–80% on equal conditions
Official European material has published different 10–80% times for the 150 and 230 kW configurations. Use those only as market-specific reference conditions. For a used candidate, compare observed energy and curve shape under stated conditions and investigate warnings, repeated interruptions or unusual thermal limitation.
Turn the curve into a route plan
Estimate how much energy the family actually adds during a meal or rest stop, not how quickly the vehicle touches a headline peak. Add motorway consumption, charger spacing, weather and an unavailable-station scenario. A flatter moderate curve may sometimes matter more than a brief high maximum.
Prepare charging after export
Confirm destination protocol, approved cables, reliable home charging, public-network access and a recovery option. Put any adapter, installation, test or unsupported-network risk into the delivered budget. Preserve the pre-export session log so a destination workshop can distinguish vehicle behaviour from later infrastructure problems.
Energy file close-out
Close this specific file by placing VIN-linked battery and charging configuration, complete DC session log and charger capability and temperature record in one dated candidate record. The reviewer should be able to confirm that peak power is not used alone and that starting and ending state of charge are recorded. Name the person or provider responsible for every unresolved point, add a realistic cost or consequence, and state what evidence will change the decision. If the VIN, version, condition or destination basis changes, reopen this file instead of carrying the previous conclusion into a different purchase.
Decision boundary
A useful decision records what is verified, what remains seller-stated and what was not tested. Attach a consequence and owner to each open item. Do not let a broad assurance replace a missing VIN record, charge test, condition image or destination opinion. Acceptance should be explicit: proceed, proceed with a priced condition, obtain more evidence, or reject. A replacement VIN never inherits an earlier acceptance.
Document discipline
Give images, scans, diagnostics and quotations a date, source and vehicle identity. Preserve originals before translation or editing. If custody, software, repair, route or candidate changes, identify which conclusions expire and repeat the affected checks instead of silently carrying them forward. Before inland release, read the same identity, propulsion, value and parties across contract, invoice, inspection and shipping drafts. Registration and customs remain separate destination checks.
